Update on OC Board of Supervisors’ June 13 Budget Hearing
Homeless advocates held a protest immediately preceding the OC Board of Supervisors public budget hearing on Tuesday, June 13. Protesters attended the meeting and filled the chambers. The next two hours were used to urge the Board to put aside funds in a special trust for the homeless and to urge the County to fund its own 2010 Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness–a plan that was approved by the Board but never funded.
An important decision coming out of the June 13th OC Board of Supervisors Meeting was that they rejected implementing cost saving Voting Centers for the 2018 election. Voting Centers will be required by the State in 2020 per SB450.
